Female Fertility

In women, fertility is generally associated with the Yin and Yang functions of the Kidney system. Both aspects of the Kidney must be functional if fertilization is to take place and a healthy child is to develop. Yin Jing, in this regard, represents the hormones and other substances and fluids related to reproductive functioning and fertility. Yang Jing is the primal power source of a woman’s sexual drive (libido). Over many centuries, the Chinese have become experts at female fertility, using extremely safe and healthful herbs as the primary tool for nurturing the organs that result in fertility and the birth of a healthy child. Formulations that Nurture Female Fertility

A woman seeking to become pregnant should take Women’s Jing to increase fertilization potential. This sophisticated formulation, designed to promote female fertility, increases both the Yang and Yin Jing of a woman. It improves blood and Qi circulation to the pelvic organs, warms the uterus and increases sexual drive. It helps regulate hormonal functions. It thus promotes fertility. It prevents miscarriage during the first weeks of pregnancy. A very similar formula is currently in wide use in China.

A woman desiring to increase her fertility should also take other basic woman’s tonic formulations. These formulations will build blood and regulate the menstrual cycle. Four Things Combination or Ten Complete Supertonic Combination are classic formulations for building blood and strengthening a woman’s constitution. They will help to regulate female hormonal functions and increase fertility. There is no scientific proof, but it is widely believed in China that consuming Reishi before and during pregnancy will lengthen the life of a child and will make him or her more intelligent.

Schizandra, Lycium, Cordyceps and Gynostemma (the main herb in Spring Dragon Tea) are all herbs widely held to foster the health of a pregnant woman and to increase fertility. A very high grade Ginseng product such as Heaven Drops Wild Ginseng or Earth Drops Wild Ginseng will strongly build the health of a woman.

There are many causes of infertility. Deficient circulation in the uterus, for example, is often the cause of female infertility. This condition is called a "cold uterus" by the Chinese, and this is treated by "warming the uterus," which is accomplished by increasing blood flow through the pelvic basin and the reproductive organs contained therein. Blood is Yin, but the warmth and circulation are Yang. Without both, fertilization and pregnancy cannot succeed.

It is wise to seek professional advise. Chinese herbs can be very useful, and it is astounding at the high rate of success people achieve using the Chinese tonic herbs.


Male Fertility

Male fertility is generally believed to be fostered by the use of Yin and Yang Jing formulations, especially ones containing Polygonum multiflorum, Deer Antler, Astragalus and any number of the other male sexual tonics like Epimedium and Cistanches

Several excellent formulations may increase male fertility. These include Shou Wu Formulation, Ant Essence Capsules, Supreme Creation

Two excellent formulas that men may use to increase sperm production and fertility are Shou Wu Formulation and Ant Essence Capsules. It is beneficial to consume Astragalus Capsules as a separate supplement. Astragalus has been shown to increase sperm mobility and survival, and therefore to improve the chances of fertilization. Three capsules of Shou Wu Formulation or Ant Essence Capsules and three capsules of Astragalus, taken three times a day for several weeks may have dramatic results.

Polygonum is used to increase sperm count and to tonify Jing. Astragalus improves the Qi of the sperm and has been shown to increase sperm motility. The herb Polygonum multiflorum is traditionally believed to increase sperm production.

If the man lacks sexual drive, a Yang Jing tonic would be advisable. A number of such formulations are described in the section on sexual tonics. These would include Super Deer Antler Extract, Yang Jing Extract, Imperial Garden, and Male Silk Moth Extract, among others available from Chinese Herbs. All of these formulations increase sexual energy and thus increase sexual activity.
