EFA
Complex contains a unique combination of the
omega-6 fatty acid, gamma linolenic acid (GLA),
and the omega-3 fatty acid, eicosapentaenoic
acid (EPA). Both these forms of essential fatty
acids (EFAs) are 'essential' because the body
cannot produce them – they must be obtained
from the diet. The human body must have these
essential fatty acids found in certain oils in
order to survive. The World Health Organization
of the United Nations has recommended that at
least 3% of daily calories should come from EFAs.
EFAs are essential for
good health because they are the precursors of
prostaglandins – extremely short-lived,
hormone-like chemicals that regulate virtually
every system in the body, including the
